Cookies and browser storage

1. Cookies: we do not set any

A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep and send back on every visit. cladfab.ie does not set any. There is no analytics or visitor-counting tool, no advertising, no social media buttons and no tracking of any kind on the site.

That is why you are not asked to accept cookies when you open the site: there are none to accept.

2. What the site keeps on your phone or computer

Instead of cookies, the site uses your browser's own storage on your phone or computer. Only cladfab.ie can read it, and it is not shared with advertisers or anyone else. It holds:

• Your sign-in. Once you log in, your browser keeps your sign-in so you don't have to log in on every page. It comes from Supabase, the company that runs our database and sign-in (named in our privacy policy). With it the site keeps a copy of your account's approval and type, so pages open quickly. Signing out removes both. The site also notes that this device has been used to log in before, so it opens the Log in tab rather than the open-an-account tab next time, and the time it last reloaded the page to finish a sign-in that failed to load, so it never reloads over and over.
• Your work in progress. Your basket, take-off and pipe-run drafts, and any job you sent with no signal, waiting to go when the signal comes back. This is so a closed page or a dropped signal on site doesn't lose your sizes.
• Your choices. Light or dark look, your measuring settings, the workshop's standard lap, gauge and metal as last read from our office, the fittings and insulation section you used last, and that you have closed a notice or the welcome tour, so it isn't shown again.
• Optional quick unlock. Only if you turn on a PIN or Face ID / fingerprint unlock in the app: a scrambled copy of the PIN, or an ID for the phone's face or fingerprint key. Your face and fingerprint never leave the phone and are never seen by us.
• For this visit only. A few notes that are cleared when you close the tab: a password reset you are in the middle of, a PIN unlock, and whether the page has already reloaded once after we updated the site.
• Pages for poor signal. Copies of the pages you have opened and of the site's own files, so it opens quickly and still works on bad signal on site.

CladFab's own office staff also keep an unfinished office estimate on their own computer.

3. Other companies' sites

• The machine video on the Fabrication page. Nothing is loaded from YouTube until you tap play. It then plays from YouTube's privacy-enhanced address (youtube-nocookie.com), and YouTube may keep information in your browser under Google's own privacy policy.
• Map, WhatsApp and email links. These open Google Maps, WhatsApp or your email app. What those keep is down to them, under their own policies.

4. The CladFab phone app

The phone app for measuring on site (measure.cladfab.ie) works the same way: no cookies and no tracking. It keeps your sign-in, your settings and the measurements you are working on in the phone's storage, and the photos and voice notes you take for a job in the phone's own database, so it works with no signal.

5. How to clear it

Send or save your work first: clearing removes any unsent drafts and photos from that device.

• To remove your sign-in: log out.
• On an iPhone (Safari): Settings, then Apps, then Safari, then Advanced, then Website Data. Find cladfab.ie and delete it. (On older iPhones, Safari is directly under Settings.)
• On Android or a computer (Chrome): open cladfab.ie, tap the icon to the left of the address, then Cookies and site data, and delete cladfab.ie's data.
• The phone app on an iPhone home screen: it keeps its own storage, apart from Safari. To clear it, remove the app from your home screen.
