Reducer (flat side)
Eccentric reducer cladding with a flat side, for pipe runs that keep one line level. Enter both diameters and the length; see the exact shape to cut.
Workshop detailsHow the workshop makes it. You don’t need this to order.
A flat-side reducer keeps one side of the run level, set out by triangulation.
How it's made: Triangulation (an oblique cone), from true lengths.
What a flat-side reducer is and why one side stays level

Smaller, but level along one side
A flat-side reducer steps a pipe down a size while one side of the run carries straight on. The trade calls it an eccentric reducer. The big end and the small end sit on different centres, so the cone leans over to one side instead of narrowing evenly all round.
When it is the right one
On runs that hang from a level line or rest on level supports, where the top or the bottom of the cladding has to stay in one straight line. If both ends share a centre, the in-line reducer is simpler.
What to measure
Both sizes over the lagging, the length from end to end, and the offset: how far the centre of the small end sits from the centre of the big end. Mark on your sketch which side is flat, top or bottom, so the piece goes up the right way round.
Metal and finish
Plain or stucco aluminium, 0.6 to 0.8 mm. Like every fitting on the site, it is made to your measurements in our Dublin 12 workshop, typically in about a week.
Before you order
Is there a minimum order?
No. One fitting is fine. Any delivery charge on a small order is shown on your quote before you order.
Do fixings come with the cladding?
No. Our prices are for the cladding only. Bands, rivets and screws are not included, but we can supply them with your order: ask, and they go on your quote.
What if you get a fitting wrong?
If we got it wrong, we remake it the same week, no charge. We make to the measurements you send, so check them before you send.
