What a radius bend is and where it goes
A smooth turn in a lagged pipe
A radius bend covers the pipe where it changes direction on a curve. It is built up from short rings of aluminium that step round the turn, so the cladding follows the bend without creasing and matches the straight casing at both ends.
Tight, standard or sweeping
Most bends follow the standard curve, and the page fills it in for you. Pick tight or sweeping if the pipe calls for it, or type the radius if your drawing gives one. A single bend never turns more than 90°: a bigger turn is two bends.
Small pipes
A radius bend needs at least 12 cm of finished cladding. Below that we make it as a mitred elbow instead. Under 8.5 cm finished, even an elbow is too small to make as a standard fitting, so the office prices it for you.
What to measure
The size over the lagging and the angle of the turn. Leave the curve on standard unless you know it is different. Then send it, and we aim to quote the same day.
Metal and finish
Aluminium, 0.6 to 0.8 mm, plain or stucco to match the runs either side.
Before you order
Is there a minimum order?
No. One fitting is fine. Any delivery charge on a small order is shown on your quote before you order.
Do fixings come with the cladding?
No. Our prices are for the cladding only. Bands, rivets and screws are not included, but we can supply them with your order: ask, and they go on your quote.
What if you get a fitting wrong?
If we got it wrong, we remake it the same week, no charge. We make to the measurements you send, so check them before you send.
